The Starry Night

The starry night- Vincent van Gogh -1889

So I chose the starry night by Vincent van gogh. What I see so far in this picture is stars. The next thing I see is like a gust of wind with yellow in it. The coolest thing to me is the dark figure sort of like a old tree. This painting sort of reminds me of a old dark town that is beautiful in weird ways.

Now I will be moving on to my analysis. So in this picture the old tree reminds me of like smoke. From a far the town sort of looks like a ocean. One of the weirdest things is the sky and the stars they remind me of like a galaxy. I think this is very unique and I also like how you can see this painting and see more than what it actually is.

There are many different feelings you can get from art work. From this art work I get like a cool windy night with a functioning town in the background. I think the artist was trying to go for a free hand unique painting that make you feel unsafe. The reason I say this is because in the painting it is dark with large dark figures.

Now I will be telling you my judgment about the artwork. I think that the town could have been brighter so that it would pop. The one thing out of many that I liked was the dark figure because it was so mystique. If this was my painting I would have taken out the yellow in the stars and make them purple because that would go good with the blue background.
